before his birth, HERU’s uncle SET murdered his father AUSAR in jealous rage. in response, his mother AUSET did the best she could to reassemble her king. not quite able to fully bring him back to life, she was fortunately still able to impregnate herself and gave birth to HERU. she hid him in the marshlands of the nile river hoping to keep him away from danger while SET ruled over the land with an iron fist. HERU spent his days training and building up his army and when he was of age emerged from his safe place to challenge his uncle to a battle. HERU ended up defeating his uncle SET, restoring order in the kingdom and taking his place as the rightful king. although he won the battle it is made clear that HERU did not murder SET, as SET had done to his father, but allowed him to live knowing that his energy provided the world with a balance that was necessary.

the name HERU was changed by the greeks to Horus and is where we get the word horoscope. his eyes were said to represent the sun and the moon, with his body symbolizing heaven.
